5 secrets of weight training for combat sport

There's a popular myth that weight traing will kill your handspeed. To prove that this statement is rubish I only have to call 2 names: Roy Jones Jr and Mike Tyson, both used wight training in their training programms, and both were the fastest and the most explosive fighters in their weight categories, while Roy was one of the fastest guys of all weight categories of all time. So the answer is: the thing that kills your handspeed is IMPROPER training.

1.You're not a bodybulder, so don do excercises TOO slow, or if you still wanna get a body of BB, do also a lot of exercises for speed and explosive power(more on that later)

2.Be equiped. Lack of equipment can affect your results in a bad way. Buy yourself dumbells of diffirent weights(for example 15, 10, 5, and 1 kg)at least you need two dumbells heavy enough to be used for weight training, and two light ones(not more than 1 kg),barbell and diffirent weight(to be able to do exercises for both strength and explosive power), heavy bag, airbag, double end bag.

3. Relax your muscles after training. If your muscles constantly flexed you can forget about hand speed. For fast punches you need you muscles to be relaxed most of time and be able to be flexed very quickly. After you finished working with weights don't justgo to shower. Make some massage to your muscles, then work on speed bag for 5 mins and then on double end bag for ten mins, finish your work out with 2 rounds of shadow boxing.

4. Don't train with weights too often. Find a Golden Mean. 3 times a week will be fine. Nother 3 days spend for jogging, speed training and so on.

5. Explosive power and speed. Equipment needed to make speed and explosive power workouts. 1 kg dumbels, 25-30 kg barbel, speed bag, double end bag.

With dumbels just do your normal shadowboxing exercises. Do misc combinations. Look after a technique. With barbel do another excerise. Shoot it up like Felix Sturm does in video below. Finish workout with 30 minutes of airbag and double end bag. While working on double end bag try to do multiple punches with one hand, for example two-three or more left hooks in a row, without pause, three jabs in a row. Try to this as quick as possible. 3 lefthooks in a second is a very good.

The best boxing game ever?

You most likely never played or heard of 4D Boxing. Actually, if you are a PC or Mac user, I can bet that you have never played any good boxing games, since all of them are released for consoles. But there’s a one, forgotten, but the best. 4D Boxing(aka 4D Sports Boxing). Amazingly, that game was released in 1991, but still is one of the most realistic boxing games ever. It’s even not a game. It’s a simulator with 3d graphics and motion capture animation. Don’t look at ugly 3d models. By the time you’ll forget about that, believe me. It’s so addictive, so realistic, so great, that it has even many advantages in front of Fight Night Round 3. For example incredibly smooth motion of boxers.

Next opponent of Roy Jones? Why?

Markus Beyer(34-3-1) is named as probable next opponent of Roy Jones. Beyer(a former super middleweight WBC champ) finished his career in 2006 after being defeated by Mikkel Kessler(KO 3), but now he's eventually returned and his next scheduled fight is against Murad Mahmudov
2008-03-14. I can't really understand this Jones' decision, since Beyer
is neither a champ nor a legend. After RJJ beat Tito Trinidad i thought he'd be looking either for belts or legendary opponents. Jones' did history many times and anything seemed possible. I expected to hear anything: Pavlik, Calzaghe, Taylor, Hopkins, Oscar De La Hoya, Mayweather, Tyson, Holyfield, Valuev... anything, but name... of one of former champs, who was destroyed in 3 rounds by the guy(Kessler) who was beaten by the guy(Calzaghe) that's now counted as very good. What does Roy want? This fight ain't gonna make much money, ain't gonna make him a champ... The only thing that Roy gets is real chance to finish Beyer quiсkly by KO. Why, Roy?!! Why?!!!!!

David Haye leaves no chance to Enzo

David Haye destroyed Enzo Maccarinelli in only two rounds, and after such an amazing victory his promises to clean up superheavyweight division from curent champs don't sound like kind of rubbish. He's puncher, he's agressive and powerful. All his victories but one were via KO or TKO. I really doubt that current superheavyweight champs and prospects like Ibragimov, Chagaev, Povetkin, Chambers possess a heavier punches. They are the same cruiserweights, but with some amount of fat that make them heavier. So is it time for Haye to go up? Not so sure... Chagaev now is the only of small guys to keep champion's belt... and Valuev has all the chances to take it back... if it happens we'll see following: Klitschko, Valuev, Peter. All are big guys. I doubt that Haye is such a good boxer(i mean boxer, not fighter, puncher and so on) to outbox the guys that have great advantage in power.

Peter TKOs Maskaev in 6

The fight began in slow pace. Both fighters managed to land some hard punches. In round 6 Peter rocked Maskaev with hard shot, and after Peter's long attack the fight was stopped by referee. Maskaev lost TKO 6 (time was 2:56). To tell the truth i didn't expect such a quick final of the fight. Yes, Peter was a favourite of bookmakers, but Maskaev isn't a small boy... he's almost as strong and powerful as Peter. So, i were dissapointed with result.

A bit info about Creatine

Creatine is nitrogenous organic acid that occurs naturally in vertebrates and helps to supply energy to muscle and nerve cells. Creatine was named after the Greek word for flesh, Kreas. In the human body, approximately half of the daily creatine is biosynthesized mainly in the vertebrates by the use of parts from three different amino acids - arginine, glycine, and methionine. The rest is taken in by alimentary sources mainly from fresh fish and meat. Ninety-five percent of creatine is later stored in the skeletal muscles, with the rest in the brain, heart, testes, inner ear, hair cells, and other organs and cells. Side Effects. Continuous intake of excessively high dosages of creatine may lead to any of several possible side-effects. It has been hypothesized that consistently high doses could lead to hypertension due to increased water retention. It can also cause dehydration by another mechanism. There is some discussion of kidney problems resulting from supplementation, but as excess creatine is not broken down into nitrogenous wastes but instead released in a more benign form.
Creatine supplementation utilizing proper cycling and dosages, however, has not been linked with any adverse side-effects beyond occasional dehydration due to increased muscular water uptake from the rest of the body.
In humans, approximately half of stored creatine originates from food (mainly from fresh meat and fish). Since vegetables do not contain creatine, vegetarians clearly show lower levels of muscle creatine which, upon creatine supplementation, rise to a level higher than in meat-eaters.
Creatine supplements are athletic aids used to increase high-intensity athletic performance. Though researchers have known of the use of creatine as an energy source by skeletal muscles since the beginning of the 20th century, they were popularized as a performance-enhancing supplement in 1992.

Haye-Maccarinelli tonight!

One of the most awaited unification fights gonna take place tonight at the O2 arena(London, UK). David Haye (WBA, WBC cruiserweight champion, 20-1, 19 KOs) meets Enzo Maccarinelli (WBO cruiserweight champion, 28-1, 21 KOs). Both boxers are known to be hard punchers and almost nobody expect this fight to go the distance. Weights are following David Haye- 198 pounds, Enzo Maccarinelli 197 pounds. According to rumours David Haye had troubles with making weigh. He reportedly had to lose 17 pounds in last 8 weeks, but during weight in he looked calm and relaxed.

Roy Jones' next opponent

So, Roy Jones Jr effectively outboxed Felix Trinidad in his recent fight, scored 2 knock downs and total control in all aspects. In other words he's back. He's almost as fast as he was in his prime, his defence is reliable, and MOST NOTABLE he started to throw combos again. He has fun in the ring again! Fight against Trinidad also had more than 500,000 PPVs. So RJJ is not forgotten, he's still popular, and still great.

Now Roy Jones has many options to choose from.  He can go up up to heavyweight or down to middle or even bellow(he mentioned that he wants to fight Oscar De La Hoya), but more likely that he gonna met winner of Calzaghe-Hopkins bout, or in more distant future Kelly Pavlik or Jermain Taylor. All four candidates are -no doubt- tough guys.  So, what if Calzaghe beats Hopkins(i don't believe in that, but anyway SD-UD is possible). I heard a lot that RJJ can't stand a chance against Calzaghe. I don't see a ground in this point of view. Yes, Roy was bombed to KO by Glen Johnson, but then Roy was in VERY bad shape.

I suppose that Roy Jones will beat Calzaghe by UD(with knock down in later rounds). Why? Because Roy is simply a better boxer.
RJJ's advantages are: great speed(nobody will argue?), better technique, he's unpredictable, great deffence against the ropes. Roy Jones' Rope-a-Dope i think is even superior to Ali's, Toney's and Byrd's, great counterpunching abilities.
Calzagher advantage is: great tempo, up to hundred thrown punches per round. He also possesses very good hand speed, not bad punching power.

So it's time for your view! What do you think? Who we'll be next opponent of Roy Jones? What result do you predict?

Secret of Bicep Peak

You look at your biceps, and not satisfied with the shape? They are big, 17''
or even more,  but they don't look like what you expected when you began
your trainings. They look bulky, maybe even like tubes of fat, and when
you flex your biceps
you see they're big, but they don't go
high like a mountain,
at best only like a hill. And when you ask people what can be done to make
your biceps peak visible, they say: "Forgot about that, shape of your muscles is genetically PREDETERMINED?" You got such answers many times?
Yeah? And you're tired from that?  Tired from than nothing can be done
about that? So, forgot about these answers. Lazy people say this shit. Ofcourse to some point everything in your
body is predetermined.
You can't make your eyes brown if
they're green and so on. But believe me. It's possible to change the situation
to the point where you'll be satisfied.
What your muscles are depends on training. You can make them fast,
or very powerful, or with great stamina.
Everything is an option,
the only thing you should keep in mind that you're were born to be the
best in one of these(depends on oxidizing processes speed that took place in your muscles) but you can be good, very good in every.

THE SAME THING WITH YOUR MUSCLES SHAPE. Even if you don't
have a bicep peak, you will be able to get one. Maybe not Everest, but
you gonna be satisfied. Believe me.

So secret of success in that mission consist of two parts.

1. First of all you gotta have LOW fat percentage of your body weight.
PERIOD. If you really wanna get what you wanna get, you gotta diet,
and you gonna train hard. Maybe you even should have your workouts
wearing jersey or something to sweat more. More sweat- less fat. Remember that.

2. Second. Your training programme should have many variations of
exercizes to maximize effect on
both inner and outer heads of your bicep. OUTER head is a main secret
of well defined bicep peak.
So CHANGE GRIPS. Narrow, normal, wide. When you pull up(PULL UPS
ARE NECCESSARY FOR BICEPS)change also not only narrow/wide, but also
towards outwards yourself.
Changing grips will help you to keep all parts of bicep busy.

I gonna write more about excercises later!!!
